Thermal protection catalyst SCST-212 is used on the secondary stage of ammonia, hydrogen production and methanol plants using natural gas and coke oven gas to protect the secondary reforming catalyst from deactivation by overheating. The carrier is calcined at 1500℃ for several hours to improve the heat resistance, therefore the catalyst can keep the shape and thermal stability well.
The main reactions are as follows:
CH4 + H2O(g)→ CO + 3H2 - 206.3 KJ/mol
CH4 + 2H2O(g)→ CO2 + 4H2 -165.3 KJ/mol
CO + H2O(g)→ CO2 + H2 + 41.19 KJ/mol
2H2 + O2 → 2H2O + 241.8 KJ/mol
The catalyst is suitable for the system of ammonia, methanol, hydrogen plant using natural gas and coke oven gas;
The catalyst is suitable for the hydrogen plant using catalytic dry gas and coking dry gas;
The catalyst is suitable for methanol synthesis and ammonia plant using oil field gas, refinery gas and naphtha.
