Hydrogen is widely used in steel, metallurgy, chemical, pharmaceutical, light industry, building materials, electronics and other industrial fields. In the absence of hydrogen-rich feed gas, hydrogen producing by methanol reforming is the best choice to get purified hydrogen with the advantages of low investment, pollution-free and convenient operation. The technology of methanol reforming combined with pressure swing adsorption (PSA) developed us is latest and edge-cutting, stable and low cost, hydrogen purity is more than 99.9%. We can provide process design and engineering or supply catalyst only at buyer’s option with hydrogen capacity of 5 ~ 5000Nm3/h.
Hydrogen producing by methanol reforming is a reacting process. Methanol after being vaporized is feed to tube reactor loaded with our SCST-401 catalyst to form carbon dioxide and hydrogen gas, the reforming gas was purified by PSA system to get of 99.9 ~ 99.999% hydrogen gas. Methanol steam reforming reactions are as follows:
CH3OH → CO+2H2-90.7 KJ/mol (1)
CO+H2O → CO2+H2+41.2 KJ/mol (2)
Total reaction:CH3OH+ H2O → CO2+3H2-49.5 KJ/mol (3)
Capacity: hydrogen production is 5 ~ 5000Nm3/h
Hydrogen purity: ≥ 99.9% ~ 99.999%
Hydrogen pressure: 0.5 ~ 2.5MPa
Hydrogen temperature: ≤ 40℃
We do R & D on the process for several years, through practice and improvement, the process technology has been improved greatly, and is proven. The technology has the following characteristics:
Methanol and water vapor directly mix and react with special catalyst SCST-401 to produce CO2 and H2; make full use of self-pressure in the reforming reaction to directly send crude H2 to PSA purifying unit, which can save the power consumed by compression;
Low reaction temperature and little energy loss; we fully consider the energy recycling in the system to achieve the purpose of energy saving;
The purity of H2 is high that can be adjusted from 99.9% to 99.999% according to customer’s requirements;
The adsorbent is excellent. It reached the domestic advanced level in the strength, life, dynamic adsorption capacity, separation efficiency and other aspects;
The SCST-401 catalyst is a new type based on copper oxides with high activity. The one-way conversion of methanol is more than 98%, carbon monoxide content in the conversion gas is low and maintains a stable catalyst performance;
Special program control valve has the advantages of anti-erosion, stem seal self-compensation type pneumatic with good sealing, external leakage is minimal, long service life and other characteristics;
Full automatic control in operating.
