The primary steam-reforming catalysts SCST-201, SCST-202, SCST-203 are used for the first conversion plant with natural gas or methane-rich gas to produce ammonia, methanol, hydrogen. The principle is that natural gas reacts with steam to produce hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide. They are new type of energy-saving primary reforming catalysts.

The main reactions are as follows:

CH+ H2Og→ CO + 3H-206.3 KJ/mol

  CH4 + 2H2Og→ CO+ 4H-165.3 KJ/mol

CO + H2Og→ CO+ H41.19 KJ/mol



Industrial Applications

  • The catalyst is suitable for the system of ammonia, methanol, hydrogen plant using natural gas and coke oven gas;
  • The catalyst is suitable for the hydrogen plant using catalytic dry gas, coking dry gas;
  • The catalyst is suitable for methanol synthesis and ammonia plant using oil field gas, refinery gas, naphtha.

Operation Conditions

  • Inlet temperature of the reformer tube: 350 ~ 650℃
  • Outlet temperature of the reformer tube: 600 ~ 950℃
  • Outlet pressure of the reformer tube: ≤ 5.0MPa
  • Ratio of H2O/C: 2.5 ~ 5.0
  • Space velocity of the feed gas: ≤ 2300h-1
